Before your trip

PRE-TRIP CHECKLIST

Don't forget to prepare...

DOCUMENTS

  • Valid passport: for some destinations, the expiration date should be no later than 3 or even 6 months before return, check specific info with your local government

  • Health insurance card / travel insurance papers: place your travel insurance papers handy, so you can easily access them in case of emergency. For EU travelers, the EU health insurance card issued by the European Social Insurance Agency is necessary

  • Travel insurance: make sure that that your home insurance or credit card really covers your insurance according to your needs. Never travel abroad without proper travel insurance!

MONEY

We always recommend that our travelers do not carry large amounts of cash. In most of our destinations, you can pay by card in almost all restaurants and hotels. Many shops also accept cards. There are plenty of ATMs everywhere, including at the airport and some hotels. If you want to exchange Romanian or any other currency before your trip, you can do so, for example, at Forex or at your bank.

CLOTHES & ACCESSORIES

Find out about the climate at your destination and pack according to the weather. Comfortable shoes are always our recommendation on a trip! Often there will be long walks through cozy alleys or even hikes in the mountains, or in idyllic villages. But if you are planning a nice dinner at a restaurant or an evening at the opera, you should not be shy about putting on your dress shoes.

Pack light and comfortable, but always bring:

  • Sunglasses
  • Sun hat or cap
  • A small rain poncho and a small umbrella
  • Comfortable, closed-toe shoes, with good traction
  • Hand sanitizer in a small bottle
Pack smart

INSPIRATION & TIPS IN VIDEOS

Over the years, our team has created a video bank about life, culture, history and traditions in our various travel destinations. Most of the videos are about Transylvania, as that was our focus in the beginning, but we are producing video material about other exciting travel destinations as well. Some of the videos are in Swedish, as we have many Swedish visitors. We strive to produce English versions as well. Until then, if you wish to view them, use the auto-translated subtitles.
